Multipolar or not, the so-called West has only “replacement demand” for industrial products related to food, clothing, and housing, such as automobiles and home appliances. This means that they are being distributed to the end of the line.
If these products were to be distributed to the Middle East, Africa, and South America, one wonders what would happen after that. In order for cars to drive, asphalt has to be put on the dirt ground. I actually think this is the true nature of what is called the climate change crisis or global warming.
In addition, the construction of high-rise reinforced concrete buildings will increase the surface area of the earth. Since the increased ground surface is made of concrete and reinforced concrete, the heat-retaining effect is extremely high. The reason why the temperature does not drop even after the sun goes down in summer is probably because the heat stored in the reinforced concrete during the day is released.
You can see this when you walk barefoot on concrete or asphalt in mid-summer in the early afternoon. Where does the stored heat go?
That does not mean that we can tell people in less developed countries not to develop. However, if the lives of more than 2 billion people in Asia alone become as good as those in developed countries, the earth, this miracle planet, will come to an end. The cost would be too great.
We heat up, use air conditioning (electricity) to cool down, and then heat up again. Modern civilization is a fiction.
多極化しようとしなかろうと、いわゆる西側は自動車や家電など衣食住に関する工業製品は「買い替え需要」しかない。末端まで行渡っているということだ。
これを中東やアフリカや南米にまで行渡らせるとして、その後はどうなるのだろうかと思う。自動車が走るためには土の地面にアスファルトを敷かなければならない。私は実はこれが気候変動危機や地球温暖化と呼ばれるものの正体ではないのかと思っている。
それと併せて、高層の鉄筋コンクリートビルを建てれば、地表面積が増大する。増大した地表はコンクリと鉄筋であるから保温効果は非常に高い。夏に日が落ちても気温が下がらないのはこの鉄筋コンクリートに日中貯えられた熱が放出される為なのではないか。
真夏の昼過ぎにコンクリートやアスファルトの上を裸足で歩いて見れば分かる。その貯えられた熱がどこへ行くのかも。
だからといって後進国の人々に「発展するな」とはいえない。しかしアジアだけでも２０億人以上の人びとの生活が先進国並みになればこの奇跡の星である地球は終わる。その代償は余りにも大きい。
人間が熱しながらエアコン（電気）を使って冷ましながらまた熱している。近代文明は虚構なのである。
